Giorgi Lobzhanidze

Born in 1974 in the village of Nabakhtevi (Georgia), Giorgi Lobzhanidze graduated in Semitic Culture and Languages ​​from the University of Tbilisi, and also in Theology from the University of Tehran. He headed the Department of Oriental Countries and the Center for the Culture of Islam at the Caucasian House of Georgia. He translated important medieval and modern works of Arabic and Persian literature. He is the author of the new Georgian translation of the Quran, for which he received the Saba Prize in the category "Best Translation of the Year" and the State Prize "Book of the Year" of the Islamic Republic of Iran in 2008.
