A bilingual (French-Georgian) poetry collection. Translated from Georgian into French by Boris Bachana Chabradze. Giorgi Lobzhanidze's collection is a testimony to the difficulties of living freely in Georgia today. The individual is crushed under material problems, poverty, social violence, political propaganda from all sides, the shackles of different religious dogmas... Marginal and tightrope walker, the poet rejects all the chapels and prefers to trust only his own truths: dreamer and rebel who keeps smiling, he becomes our teacher and teaches us a new language, which draws from the sources of a secret Quran, with a reimagined conjugation, adventurous, without past or future, infinitely present. Born in 1976 in Georgia, Boris Bachana Chabradze studied philosophy and literature in Tbilisi and Nantes, a twin city of the Georgian capital. His translations of poems, plays, short stories, and essays by over a hundred authors have been published in numerous literary journals. He has won several awards and also conducts interviews with the authors he translates as part of the Tbilisi International Literary Festival, in partnership with the Georgian Writers' House. He is the author of two collections of poems in Georgian, "The Gray World" (1992) and "The Intoxication of the Moon" (1996).
