A bilingual (French-Georgian) poetry collection. Translated from French into Georgian by Maya Katsanashvili. "Under the Flowers of the Tapestry" is a gem of contemporary French-language poetry. The author addresses the deepest emotions of a woman's life with character and a keen eye for truth. In the shadows of childhood and motherhood, in the difficult first steps, Marlène Tissot aptly captures all the setbacks, the violence, the unspoken, and the prejudices endured. Discreetly, line after line, poetry comes, like a remedy, to soothe, clarify, and save what can be saved. These words, from a woman seeking her path, refusing all compromise, encourage us to grapple with our own ghosts. Born in the Georgian capital, Maya Katsanashvili studied Romance Languages and Literature at Tbilisi State University. After a Master's degree in literature on the theatre of Eugène Ionesco, she moved to Paris in 2011 and translated major works by Queneau (Les fleurs bleues, Zazie dans le métro, etc.) – as well as contemporary authors such as David Foenkinos, Amélie Nothomb, Leïla Slimani and Martin Page.
